Obviously, Paul Shoopman wasn’t your average teenager. This was a young man with an innate drive to please his customers. After founding Dura Builders in 1974, Paul constructed more than 10,000 homes in nearly 200 Indianapolis neighborhoods before selling the company in 2004. Through more than 30 years as the head of Dura, Shoopman earned the respect of his business associates. More importantly, by ensuring the quality of every home he built, he earned the trust of thousands of satisfied homebuyers.

While lauded as a recipient of a host of building awards, Paul is one of only three Indiana homebuilders ever to receive the prestigious national 2-10 Diamond Builder Award, which recognizes excellence in construction standards, practices and superior levels of homeowner satisfaction. “I’m proud to offer a level of attention and personal service unequaled in the Indiana building industry,” said Paul.

While focused on building exceptional homes, Paul is also deeply committed to building strong communities. With his support of numerous charitable organizations, from St. Mary’s Child Center to the Zionsville Boys and Girls Club to the Carl Asaro 9/11 Fund, Paul gives back to many of the same communities that helped him build a successful life for himself, his wife of over 30 years and their six children.

Now as head of the Paul Shoopman Home Building Group, Paul is ready to move into a phase of custom homebuilding that will again show how a man’s desire to excel and please those around him can be seen again throughout the neighborhoods of Indianapolis.
